HTC 10 Camera – A fix to a big problem

Smartphones are the new way to take photos. They are not only convenient in that they are always at hand to capture moments but they are also lighter to carry around as opposed to actual cameras. It is therefore increasingly important that any new flagship has an awesome camera. In the age of selfies, Instagram and social media, manufacturers cannot afford to go cheap on the camera. HTC seem to have this covered in the HTC 10 through the 12 MP camera which is quite impressive when compared to other flagships released within the year so far. It is also a step up from the previous HTC flagships such as the HTC One M9.

Specifications

The primary camera on the HTC is 12 MP while the secondary, front-facing camera is 5 MP. The back camera also has 1.55 um pixels and laser auto focus. This is a double threat as the camera is able to distribute pixel density to give sharper and clearer photos. The laser focus works well to allow the user to take speedy photos by freezing the moments.

It also has dual tone LED flash, a wider aperture at f/1.8 compared to the f/2.2 that was present in the One M9. These features allow the camera to take better photos in low light conditions. This was one of the greatest problems that other flagships, as well as the previous HTC ones faced when it came to photo-taking.

Like the rear camera, the front-facing camera has optical image stabilization which is a first for any smart phone. This guarantees awesome selfie shots. The 5 MP camera offers 1.34 um pixels and an f/1.8 aperture as well. The camera has autofocus at the front as well.

Advantages

Low light photography and photography at night is growing increasingly popular and people do not want to have to haul around professional cameras just to take night time photos. Surely the only option cannot be some pathetic-looking photos just because manufacturers have not considered low light photography for phone cameras. So the HTC 10 is the answer to this predicament. Apart from the fact that this camera offers great photographs in low light conditions, it also offers 4K video capture and boosts audio with the 24-bit capture.

HTC 10 Vs HTC One M9 Camera

While the HTC 10 stepped down in resolution from the HTC One M9’s 20 MP to 12 MP, the wider aperture, increased pixel density and the optical image stabilization and laser focus more than make up for this. It actually makes the HTC 10’s camera the best out of all the HTC phones so far. Additionally, the HTC 10’s front camera is also improved in comparison to the HTC One M9’s with 5 MP, a step up from 4 MP and OIS.

Conclusion

The HTC 10 camera is definitely something worth swooning over. It is one of the great features that the new flagship has and definitely makes it attractive to users.
